چکیده
A field experiment was conducted in a split plot design at ICAR-Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI) to evaluate the effects of groundwater (GW), untreated wastewater (WW), constructed wetland treated (TWW) and conjunction with cyclic mode (CW) main plots three levels fertilizers subplots viz. control (no NPK fertilizer application) (N0), recommended dose – amount added through irrigation water (N1) (N2) during 2018-2019 on soil chemical properties. The N, P, K, RSC, Zn, Cu, Mn, Fe, Ni, Pb Cr contents were significantly higher 2.3, 3.7, 2.7, 1.6, 3.1, 2.0, 2.1, 2.9, 7.2 2.3 times more than respectively. initial soils normal reaction having pH 7.34, electrical conductivity 0.29 dSm-1, organic carbon 0.68% available P K 238, 24.6 227 kg ha-1. Similarly, DTPA extractable Mn Fe well above deficiency critical limit but below permissible threshold for toxicity. 0.22, 2.54 0.25 mg kg-1. carbon, macro nutrients (N, K) micronutrients (Zn, Cu Fe) content got improved sewage followed by irrigated alternatively ground water. results demonstrated that raising lemongrass nutritional quality soil.

Proline accumulation in lemongrass (Cymbopogon flexuosus Stapf.) due to heavy metal stress.
Toxic heavy metals viz. lead, mercury and cadmium induced differential accumulation of proline in lemongrass (Cymbopogon flexuosus Stapf.) grown in soil amended with 50, 100, 200, 350 and 500 mg kg(-1) of the metals have been studied. Proline accumulation was found to be metal specific, organ specific and linear dose dependant. Further, proline accumulation following short term exposure (two mo...
متن کاملLemongrass (Cymbopogon flexuosus) essential oil demonstrated anti-inflammatory effect in pre-inflamed human dermal fibroblasts
Lemongrass (Cymbopogon flexuosus) essential oil (LEO), which has citral as its main component, has exhibited anti-inflammatory effect in both animal and human cells. In this study, we evaluated the anti-inflammatory activity of a commercially available LEO in pre-inflamed human dermal fibroblasts. We first studied the impact of LEO on 17 protein biomarkers that are critically associated with in...
متن کاملEthanol and High-Value Terpene Co-Production from Lignocellulosic Biomass of Cymbopogon flexuosus and Cymbopogon martinii.
Cymbopogon flexuosus, lemongrass, and C. martinii, palmarosa, are perennial grasses grown to produce essential oils for the fragrance industry. The objectives of this study were (1) to evaluate biomass and oil yields as a function of nitrogen and sulfur fertilization, and (2) to characterize their utility for lignocellulosic ethanol compared to Panicum virgatum (switchgrass). Mean biomass yield...
متن کاملDehydrogenase and Catalase Activity of Soil Irrigated with Municipal Wastewater
Dehydrogenase and catalase activities were measured in a Eutric Histosol irrigated with municipal wastewaters (Lublin, Poland) purified by a two-step (mechanical and biological) treatment. Soil enzyme activity was used to test the biochemical status of the soil-plant system, the last step of wastewater purification. Three experimental fields, each of 1 ha area, were planted with Populus nigra, ...
متن کاملGeranyl acetate esterase controls and regulates the level of geraniol in lemongrass (Cymbopogon flexuosus Nees ex Steud.) mutant cv. GRL-1 leaves.
Essential oil isolated from lemongrass (Cymbopogon flexuosus) mutant cv. GRL-1 leaves is mainly composed of geraniol (G) and geranyl acetate (GA). The proportion of G and GA markedly fluctuates during leaf development. The proportions of GA and G in the essential oil recorded at day 10 after leaf emergence were approximately 59% and approximately 33% respectively. However, the level of GA went ...
